Guarantee

All ILOTank tanks have been inspected and found to be free of defects before leaving the manufacturer's warehouse.

Our storage tanks are constructed from galvanized steel, a process that involves applying a protective coating of zinc to the steel to prevent corrosion. However, over time, this protective coating deteriorates. Although these tanks are designed to hold water, adding chlorine accelerates the deterioration of the protective coating, eventually leading to corrosion of galvanized steel tanks. This is why it is essential to follow ILOTank advice.

It is highly recommended to use the minimum amount of chemicals in your pool water in order to extend the life of your tank. See maintenance section.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our customer support team using our online form. We will help you resolve any issues with your ILOTank.

Security Safety Rules

Safety around a swimming pool is essential to prevent accidents, particularly drownings, especially when it comes to young children. Here are some important safety rules to follow for a swimming pool:

Do not jump or dive into the stock tank pool.

ALWAYS turn off the pump when swimming.

Use a hard or soft cover that can close the pool when not in use to prevent unauthorized access.

Supervise children: Ensure that a responsible adult is constantly supervising children when they are in or around the pool.

Plug your pump into an external outlet that complies with the Quebec building code. (GFI socket)

*GFI outlets play a crucial role in electrical safety by detecting current leaks and quickly shutting off power to prevent electric shock and fire hazards, especially in areas where water is present .

Regular cleaning:

  • Remove debris from the surface of the water using a landing net.
  • Vacuum to remove dirt from the bottom of the pool.
  • Clean the walls with a suitable brush to remove algae and deposits.

How to treat water

The ILOTank is sold with a floating chlorine diffuser to treat the water.

A minimal amount of chlorine is required.

You should never exceed 0.5PPM to 1PPM of chlorine. Test your chlorine regularly using the strips.

Beyond this quantity, the galvanized coating of your tank may be compromised.

Clean the filter every 2 weeks. Over the years, if you notice rust, you can sand it down and paint it.

Effective filtration:

  • Make sure the filtration system is working properly.
  • The pump consumes little energy, it MUST be turned off only when swimming.

How to avoid rust?

Rust is inevitable over time. To reduce it and/or extend the rust-free period.

  • Use minimal amounts of chemicals, especially in small pools. 0.5PPM to 1PPM MAXIMUM.
  • Never shock the water to treat and never pour chlorine, salt or bromine directly into the pool.

How to Winterize the Pool

Drain your pool and use it to store your summer items.

Dry it to avoid humidity.

Get yourself a nice winterized pool cover and say goodbye until next year.
