In short: for 2 to 3 people, choose a 6' stock tank pool; for 3 to 5 people, the 7', our most popular model; for 4 to 6 people, the 8'. The 5' is our smallest round tank, for very small spaces. Our round galvanized steel tanks all have an interior height of about 58 cm (23 in): only the diameter changes, from about 152 cm (5') to 244 cm (8').

5' stock tank pool: the most compact
The 5' stock tank pool is our smallest round galvanized steel tank (about 152 cm, ~1,065 L). It is the size for a small yard, a deck or a cozy corner.
6' stock tank pool: for 2 to 3 people
The 6' stock tank pool (about 183 cm, ~1,530 L) is our compact model: ideal for 2 to 3 people, small spaces, decks and city yards.
7' stock tank pool: for 3 to 5 people
The 7' stock tank pool (about 213 cm, ~2,080 L) is our most popular model. It fits 3 to 5 people and suits most yards.
8' stock tank pool: for 4 to 6 people
The 8' stock tank pool (about 244 cm, ~2,720 L) is our largest round galvanized steel tank: for 4 to 6 people, large families and anyone who wants maximum space.

Measure your space before choosing
- Diameter first: measure the planned spot, then keep space all around to walk and get into the water.
- Flat, level ground: a layer of sand, stone dust or geotextile felt helps stabilize the tank.
- An outlet nearby: the pump plugs into a GFCI-protected outlet.
- Away from trees: you will get fewer leaves and less debris in the water.
Think about the weight of the water
One litre of water weighs about 1 kg. Once filled, an 8' tank holds about 2.7 tonnes of water, and a 6' about 1.5 tonnes. On a deck or balcony, have a professional check the load capacity before installation.
Height and regulations in Quebec
In Quebec, the Regulation respecting the safety of residential swimming pools covers pools with a water depth of 60 cm or more. Our galvanized steel tanks, round and oval, have an interior height of about 58 cm: the water cannot reach 60 cm, which puts them below the threshold of the provincial regulation.
- Round polyethylene tanks: about 60 cm high, right at the threshold.
- Square polyethylene tank: about 71 cm (28 in), above the threshold: an enclosure and a permit may be required.
In every case, your municipality may add its own rules (permits, setbacks, fencing): check with it before installation.

About 2,720 L (718 US gal) for the round 8' galvanized steel tank and about 2,195 L (580 US gal) for the round 8' polyethylene tank (approximate Hastings capacities).
How deep is a stock tank pool?
About 58 cm of interior height for our galvanized steel tanks, about 60 cm for the round polyethylene tanks and about 71 cm for the square polyethylene tank.
Do you need a fence for a stock tank pool in Quebec?
Under provincial law, our galvanized steel tanks (interior height of about 58 cm) are below the regulation's 60 cm threshold. The square polyethylene tank (about 71 cm) is above it. Your municipality may have additional rules: always check with it.
How long does it take to set up and fill?
